Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, just ask. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

Money

How much does this cost?

A starter website is KES 15,000. A website with booking and a quotation generator is KES 28,000. The complete operations package — adding a job dashboard and payment tracker — is KES 45,000.

Individual pieces can be bought separately: a quotation generator is KES 12,000, a job dashboard KES 18,000, a payment tracker KES 8,000.

These are introductory prices while we are new, and they will rise once we have a full schedule. The services page lists exactly what is in each one.

Can I pay by M-Pesa?

Yes, and that is how most clients will pay. It is 50% to start and 50% when the work is finished and you are happy with it. You get a receipt for each payment.

Do I have to pay you every month?

No. The build is a one-off price. The KES 2,500 monthly care plan is completely optional, can be cancelled any month, and nothing stops working if you do not take it.

Be careful with anyone who tells you otherwise. Some agencies charge a monthly fee that is really rent — stop paying and your website vanishes. We do not work that way.

Are there hidden costs?

Hosting is free on the service we use, and we set it up for you. The only genuine optional extra is a custom web address like yourcompany.co.ke, which costs roughly KES 1,000–2,000 a year paid directly to a domain registrar, not to us.

Without one, your site still works perfectly on a free address. Many companies start there and add their own domain later.

Is VAT added?

No. Kazira is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged. The price you are quoted is the price you pay.

Trust

How many clients have you worked with?

None yet. Kazira started in 2026 and is looking for its first clients.

We could have put invented testimonials on this website — plenty of new agencies do — but you would have no way of checking them, and finding out later that they were fake is a bad way to start a working relationship.

Instead we built five complete systems you can open and test yourself. That tells you more about whether we can do the work than a made-up quote from a stranger.

Why should I take a risk on someone new?

Two honest reasons. First, the price — these introductory rates exist precisely because we are building a reputation, and they will not last. Second, attention: you will be one of a handful of clients, not one of eighty.

And the risk is limited by how we structure payment. You pay half to start, see the finished work, and only pay the balance when you are satisfied.

Are you a registered company?

Not yet. Kazira currently operates as a sole proprietorship, which is normal and entirely legal for a business at this stage in Kenya. We will not describe ourselves as "Kazira Limited" until that is actually true.

You still get a written service agreement, proper quotations, numbered invoices and receipts for every payment.

What if you disappear after taking my deposit?

Reasonable thing to worry about. Three things reduce that risk: the deposit is half, not the whole amount; the written agreement states what is being delivered and by when; and the hosting accounts are created in your name from the start, so you control them, not us.

The work

How long does it take?

About 7 days for a starter website, 14 for website plus booking, 21 for the complete package. Counted from when you have given us your content and prices, and assuming you reply to questions within two working days.

I do not have photos or written content. Is that a problem?

No. We write the words for you based on our conversation — you correct them rather than starting from a blank page.

For photos, clear pictures taken on a decent phone of your actual team working are genuinely better than stock images, and cost nothing. If you have none at all, we can design around that using graphics instead.

Will it work on my customers’ phones?

That is the first thing we design for, not the last. Everything is built for a phone screen first and a laptop second, tested on small screens, and kept light so it loads quickly on mobile data rather than only on fast wifi.

Can I update prices and services myself afterwards?

Yes, and we show you how during the training session. Prices, services and contact details are kept somewhere simple and clearly labelled so you are not dependent on us for routine changes.

Do I own it, or do you?

You do. The accounts are in your name, the files are yours at handover, and you are free to take them to another developer whenever you like. Nothing is held back as leverage.

Practical

Do you only work in Nairobi?

We are based in Nairobi but work with cleaning companies anywhere in Kenya. Because the work is digital, being in Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru or Eldoret changes nothing. Meetings happen on WhatsApp or by call.

What happens to my customers’ personal information?

We design systems to collect only what is genuinely needed — typically a name, a phone number and an address for the job. Not an ID number, not a date of birth, not anything that is not required to clean a property and invoice for it.

Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019 applies to you as the business collecting that data, so we build with it in mind and explain plainly what is stored and where. See our privacy approach.

Do I need a .co.ke domain?

Not to start. Your site works fine on a free address, and that is where most of our clients will begin. A yourcompany.co.ke address looks more established and costs roughly KES 1,000–2,000 a year — worth adding once the site is bringing in work, not before.

My company is small. Is this worth it for me?

Maybe not, and we will tell you if we think so. If you handle a handful of jobs a week and nothing is getting lost, a dashboard solves a problem you do not have.

The point at which it starts being worth it is usually when you are quoting several jobs a week, running more than one crew, or losing track of who has paid. If you are not there yet, a simple website alone is often the right starting point.
